Welcooooooome.....again :-)
Social media is full of tech talk these days - Black Tech Twitter, How to Get into Tech 101, Tech this, Tech that, TECH EVERYWHERE and I really do love to see it! Buuuut, you are probably a Customer Experience Associate at some bank or an ambitious IG business owner trying to make ends meet by selling shoes and bags. So when you see these tech memes and twitter spaces and IG Lives, you are like
Buuuuut, hear us out and give us a chance. Tech really is for all. I mean you don't have to let go of all your experience in any industry and go all into tech and learn to code 24/7 and be "nerdy"(you can if you want to though, you feel me?). As a matter of fact, I think having foundations in any other industry is a huge plus for anyone who wants to go into tech or who wants to simply adopt tech strategies in their work - which is exactly what I am trying to convince you to do. The reason is because you will know best what potential solutions to pursue in your field! You have experience + skill and that's a fierce combo! So in this post, I am going to mention a few roles that are roles we all knew before tech came and tried to "steal the show" and then we'll see that data features in there remarkably.
1. Customer Service Experience.
This one!!! This is a personal favorite. I love love love it when I experience good customer service and I love it when I am in the position to provide it. But do you know what is better than a good customer service experience? Data-driven customer service!!!!
Customer: This is not the first time I have experienced this from your company. You always don't have this product but you advertise that you do.....
Do you see what's happening over here? Imagine 600 customers giving you similar feedback. If you are not collecting and analysing data, you will fail to spot the trends and will really discover no insight. If your customers are complaining of one product being constantly out of stock , the data should let you know that THERE IS HIGH DEMAND AND LOW SUPPLY.
The possibilities are endless - how many customers prefer walk-ins to self-service? Are customers likely to buy more of this product if the cost is reduced or not ? What are the reasons for the rate of customer churn? Has our customer base increased in the past year?
Data Analytics will answer these and the data-driven decision you take could do so well for your organization.
I have a sample of a visualization I created after analysing some customer data. Check it out here and let me know what you think!
2. Small Business Owner
Almost everyone you know owns some sort of online business or knows someone who does. "This chat is with a business account. Tap to learn more"- That's Whatsapp when you are trying to just reach a friend. Everyone is a "CEO" (Ah but do you guys understand what CEO means??)
Soooo for my small business owners, you are not left out! Don't undermine your little beginnings and yes - data analytics is for you too! Data-driven decisions could be the big break you need to expand. This is the best time to collect data for your business. You are going to look back in some years and the percentage increase in your growth will blow your mind! So DON'T SLEEP ON DATA!
I know this is all theoretical now but I've got you, no worries. We will begin hands-on practise soon! I am exciteddddddddd!
So you see, making data driven decisions is vital for all roles in all industries. Have you heard of Healthcare Informatics? Do you know data analysts work in schools? Heard of GIS? Even in Churches and Mosques, making data-driven decisions is vital!
I am going, but I shall return with goodies for everyone who wants to actually get their hands dirty and start studying data analytics and all the wonderful opportunities that it comes with!
Okay Bye!
Another banger🔥🔥. Return with
